Oklahoma State coach and two-time Olympic gold medalist John Smith will once again headline the Second Annual Inland Northwest Wrestling Camp, slated for June 13-16 at Sandpoint High School in beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho.
Smith, who was accompanied by Mark Branch and Pat Smith to last year's camp, will once again show the technique that has earned him the title of World's Greatest Wrestling Technician.
Last year's Inland Northwest Wrestling Camp received praises from those in attendance for the personal attention Coach Smith and his staff afforded each wrestler:
- "I've been to a lot of camps but I was amazed by how much time these guys spent with each of us," -Joe F.
- "All of them (John and Pat Smith and Mark Branch) showed technique that I could use and they kept pointing out little things that make a big difference," -Jason C.
- "I was really pleased with how these world caliber wrestlers kept things moving and how they interacted with all the wrestlers," -Dani P. (Wrestler's mom)
Smith needs little introduction. Currently the head coach at national wrestling power Oklahoma State University, he has guided the Cowboys to five top three finishes, including the NCAA title in 1994. In addition to coaching the Cowboys, Smith also coached the 2000 US Olympic team.
As a competitor, the accolades are too many to mention:
- 2x NCAA Champion;
- 5x National Champion;
- 6x World Champion (Only US wrestler to accomplish such a feat;)
- 2x Olympic Gold Medalist.
Accompanying Coach Smith to this year's camp will be members of his World Class Staff from Oklahoma State University.
Space at the Second Annual Inland Northwest Camp is limited. Cost for the camp and t-shirt is $125.00. Click below to recieve more information about the Inland NW Wrestling camp, including registration form.
